In the clip, you can see someone walking through an office space that could be found in any corporate building in America. A coffee machine and an empty table are shown along with a table hockey game. The barren space and harsh, shrill voices combine to highlight what appears to be an absurd commentary on this “culture” claim.

Many TikTokers who saw the post agreed with this prospect, which offers many reasons as to why the “culture” debate is not actually being tracked. Perhaps the real reason companies are forcing workers to come to the office is that they sign multi-year office space leases they can’t break and want to get something out of the money they’re spending. Some people say it’s because they thought

Others pointed out how ridiculous some of the office fixtures were. For example, the fact that there are games and activities that you can’t use because you’re too busy with work.

And while some people said how silly it was to go to the office and then log into Zoom to have a meeting anyway, it’s another job that can be done from anywhere with an internet connection.

Remote workers reported higher levels of efficiency and completed more tasks in less time when not tied to the “clock.” In some cases, workers actually worked long hours because they didn’t have to worry about getting up early to get ready for their commute.

Needless to say, remote positions ultimately helped reduce employee turnover. Some people looking for a new gig were quick to turn down offers that didn’t include at least a part-time remote option.
On the flip side of that coin, many people in remote areas have ruined it for others.

They did this by bragging about how little they could do at home and posting about it on social media. About using physical mouse-shaking devices or software (some people got in trouble) to appear active, go on vacation, or run errands during work hours. No matter how much I joked about it, it didn’t solve the problem. .

And there was a big company that took notice. Tesla CEO Elon Musk says employees at the electric car manufacturing brand will have to return to the office or look for work elsewhere, and those who need to work remotely will have to submit a reason. He put an end to remote work.

Again, it all depends on how someone wants to run their business, the nature of the work being done there, and many successful businesses that run almost entirely with a workforce of remote employees. Take WordPress for example, one of the largest content management systems on the internet is run by 100% telecommuting employees.
