Ready, Steady, Tikka Boti – goat ribs
Allah puts his dear people through some tests, and they pass through them without hesitating. Hazrat Ibrahim (PBUH) was put through some tests by sacrificing his son Hazrat Ismael in the way of Allah. Allah loved this act so much that he replaced Ismael with a ram, SubhanAllah, and the ram got sacrificed instead.
Abraham looked up, and there was a thicket; he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son. So Abraham called that place ‘The LORD Will Provide. And to this day, it is said, “On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided.” (Genesis 22:13-14)
People from that time till now perform the same act and sacrifice different animals, i.e., goats, ox, camels, and rams, in the way of their lord to please him.
From a full-fledged ox to slaughtering them and making different dishes, our ‘Eid went by. Now, what to do with the meat? What are you thinking of making out of them?
Here is the recipe for goat ribs that you would love to make.
Goat Rib:
Ingredients:
- One full rack of a rib of a goat
- 6 to 7 lemons or according to your own taste
- 6 to 7 green chillies
- 3 tsp of salt
- 1 tsp of black cumin
- Half piece of ginger
- 4 to 5 slices of ginger
- 3 to 4 spoons of olive oil
Method to prepare:
Take a bowl and add the lemon juice, salt, black cumin, and olive oil. Next, make a paste of ginger, garlic, and chillies and put it in the bowl.
Mix all the ingredients and apply on to the rib and let sit for 7 hours maximum.
There are two ways to make it, either on the grill or in the oven, which takes an hour and 45 min per pound.
If you make it on the grill, keep cooking it until tender; add a small amount of water (approximately 1 spoon) if it starts sticking onto the surface.
Change sides time by time, and at the end, cover it up with a lid for some time so it can cook from within.
This is the final look of the cooked rib. Serve hot with tortillas and beverages.
