As Call Me Kat fans know, Leslie Jordan, who played Phil on the FOX show, died in a car accident in October 2022. The way the series’ charismatic star Kat wrote Phil off the show left a vacancy at Head Baker.

In case you missed it, Phil’s absence led to a plot, according to Cineblend, in which he and Jalen (John Griffin) flew to Tahiti to celebrate their love and eventually start a bakery in an exotic location. is explained in
Enter Gideon, an Amish character with a middle-parted hairstyle who’s taking on the role of Kat’s head baker, according to TV Line. Whether or not he fits the crew remains to be seen, but SPOILER ALERT: Gideon says what’s on his mind and, in his first episode sneak peek, pisses someone off from the start.

Fans Want to Know: How Long Will Jack McBrayer Appear on ‘Call Me Kat’?
It remains to be seen if Jack, who Kat says is “on a journey of self-discovery,” will become a permanent cast member, but Call Me Kat fans aren’t quite sure how they feel about the role. Admittedly, it’s hard to see anyone succeeding Phil. However, some fans are calling for Vicki Lawrence, who played Phil’s mother in the tribute episode, to return in her place.

All we know at the time of writing is that Vicki may reprise her role as Larlene Crumpler in the future, but nothing has been confirmed. It’s worth pointing out that you can make an appearance and probably get a lot of laughs.

Fans can’t wait to see how Gideon’s story unfolds, but here’s a fun fact. Jack and Cheyenne Jackson, who play Max, also collaborated on his 30 Rock. The latter star appeared in his 12 episodes of the Alec Baldwin-led show as Danny Baker, according to IMDb.
And another tip to chew on in the meantime is that Jack’s Southern accent is already a recurring role. As he told The New York Times in 2008 of his phone casting, “The first words that came out of their mouths were, ‘Can you take your accent off?'” You can, but it sounds like I’m kidding people.
