Instacart customer tried to scam driver, but she took video

It went viral online after an Instacart shopper posted a story-time clip about how a customer tried to act dirty during a delivery. The video was posted on Ava Stone’s Facebook account, and the Instacart shopper narrating the clip said they had received a $35 order and had to buy a ton of food.

The shoppers collected enough food to fill two shopping carts, so the entire ordeal was videotaped. After the order was completed and Instacart Shopper delivered the item to the customer’s home, I received a message through DoorDash that the order had not been delivered.

The customer claimed the driver didn’t complete the delivery, but thanks to the fact that she recorded a large number of deliveries, Instacart eventually retained the amount on the order she actually completed. I have allowed it.

Many Instacart drivers have expressed on social media that they are not having the best time in the world distributing applications. Whether it’s due to uncooperative, rude, overly demanding customers, or relatively low pay for the amount of work/time put into delivery.

It seems that whoever was ordering the groceries was trying to get a lot of the product without paying. Instacart almost didn’t pay me for two and a half hours.”

Some independent contractors who work for Instacart say that the amount of money they put in their pocket every hour, especially after deducting expenses, is ultimately not worth the time.

One Indeed reviewer posted an extensive list of all the pros and cons of distributing items on Instacart. There were also positive comments about food delivery, which was relatively quick and they were able to start working right away.

They also talked about the potential for work-life balance and being able to set your own schedule on the fly. So if you’re looking for a completely uncommittable side hustle, these might be worth checking out.

However, reviewers pointed out the biggest glaring drawback of delivering to Instacart. They wrote in their evaluation: “You might get $20 for one order.. but you spend about 35 minutes shopping and maybe even driving your car.” Spending about 25 minutes… well worth it, but not really.I made $60 in 5 hours with lots of traffic, lots of orders and very little pay.”

The OP continued: “That’s $12 an hour. I haven’t made it since babysitting..if you can tank 10 hours a day and have an electric car, it’s worth it Maybe… But honestly, it’s not a good side job, and it certainly isn’t a good full-time job, and if you want a side hustle, I recommend Uber Eats. and get paid better.”
