The controversial Hogwarts Legacy launches in early February, giving fans the freedom to explore the sprawling castle and its surroundings. He’s becoming one of the biggest games in the franchise’s history, and there’s a lot for players to discover as they progress through his main quest.
But do you need Pottermore to play Hogwarts Legacy? Do you need an internet connection? Before diving into the next game, let’s take a closer look at what you need.

Do I need Pottermore to play Hogwarts Legacy?
When you launch Hogwarts Legacy for the first time, you will be given the opportunity to link your Harry Potter Fan Club account to your WB Games account. The former is basically your Pottermore account (the website was replaced by The Wizarding World long ago), and linking the two accounts brings your “real self” into the game along with a magic wand.
