There are parents who jump at every opportunity to use their children as a means of bragging.
They even brag about how hot and successful the person they managed to bag for marriage is.

And while it’s normal to feel proud of your child’s achievements, especially if you’ve broken your own hump so that your child can grow up to be successful and contribute something meaningful to society, all Praise isn’t how great kids are, it’s more of a way to show off how great they are.
It seems like a twisted way for someone to speak for someone else, but people do. This is exactly what Reddit user @relevant-ostrich-352 said her parents were going to do at her wedding.

According to the bride-to-be, her parents expect her to cover the costs of a local church wedding that invites a large number of guests. estimates it to be between $35,000 and $45,000.

The original plan for her wedding was a get-together at a resort that came up with only $10,000, including travel expenses for the groom’s parents and his nephew.

But her mother didn’t like the idea, and the Redditor said she’d have a more lavish church wedding and reception, but her parents wanted it so badly that they couldn’t afford the wedding difference. She said she could cover the costs. So she and her husband paid $10,000 and her parents could cover the rest.

But the Redditor isn’t willing to drop the price of the new Tesla Model 3 at the wedding, and she’s now holding out with her parents as a result. And speaking of her car, her people can definitely afford it, she says, but that means they won’t be able to buy a new one this year.

Another said, “I didn’t understand that mentality. As a parent, you want to pay for your child’s wedding just because you love them and want them to be happy.” I don’t use it as a lever to impose my desires and thoughts, not even my wedding.. in my opinion it is very dominant.
